Hi All,
I came across a site that claims you can teach your two-year-old to read. ChildrenLearningReading.org is the website if you are interested. The videos and reviews on the site are quite compelling, but I have had trouble finding honest reviews elsewhere. When I search Children Learning Reading Review I just get a lot of ads for the program thinly disguised as reviews. Still, the site itself includes videos of the program creator’s young children reading and shows how they progress, so I have decided to take the plunge.
E.V. has always loved books and one of the best ways to distract her if she’s fussy is to give her a new book to read. We bought her the baby signing time board books to go along with her baby signing time videos and, even though she can’t read the words, she signs along with the pictures! We have started singing the alphabet song and learning the signs for the letters, again thanks to signing time, so I feel like if she’s showing interest in the alphabet it’s time to find out the correct way to teach it so she can read as fast as possible.
The ensuing search is what led me to the Children Learning Reading program. Their website is heavy on testimonials and videos and light on the BS most untrustworthy sites use to try to trick you. No crazy add-ons or bait and switch tactics. Two options, depending on whether or not you want the videos of him teaching his kids, and that’s it, nothing more to buy. No subscriptions; no extra steps to buy; one and done; I like that! Finally, and what made me decide to buy it, it doesn’t guarantee results for all kids! Nor does it guarantee to fix dyslexia, ADHD, hiccups, IBS, or any other ridiculous things. It clearly states that not all children are the same and there is no way to guarantee results! Here’s their disclaimer, if you want to read it.
EDIT 6/20/16: After checkout there is one more thing that pops up. For an extra $25 (apparently normally $50) you can get a bundle of worksheets that supplement the program. I felt a little cheated that the premium package didn’t include everything, it felt dishonest to me. Like buying a deluxe edition of a video game and then finding out after the fact that there is DLC not included, not cool. Just wanted to mention it.
Let’s see where this rabbit hole takes us shall we?
Cheers,
Lawrence – The Home Poppy
